Enjoy Flying !

Get past those fears that keep you grounded

Easily travel by air for work or pleasure.....

Being afraid of flying in a plane is fairly common. It happens to many who haven't even flown yet, and it sometimes happens suddenly to those who may have been flying regularly in the past. Known as flight anxiety, fear of flying, aero-anxiety or flight phobia, the symptoms are probably familiar to you:

Heart pounding or irregular heartbeat

Rapid breathing or feeling of not enough oxygen

Sensations of impending doom - overall dread

Butterflies (or worse) in the stomach - nausea

Sweating - gripping the armrest with white knuckleas

Your imagination takes off with every movement and unusual noise

For some people these symptoms can be very severe, in others relatively mild, but enough to make the trip miserable.

Ruined vacation, missed business meeting

For many people these symptoms are strong enough that they flatly refuse to travel. This has resulted in lost business opportunities and even being passed over for promotion. Air travel is becoming more important to business, and an employee who can't fly across the country to meet with clients or suppliers may become a liability to a company. Taking the train or driving a car isn't always feasible, especially for long trips, and overseas trips absolutely require flying. This means that the financial cost of this fear can be significant, and can have a very negative effect on career and income.

Holiday trips to see the family, vacations to the other coast, and certainly sight-seeing visits to Europe, Hawaii, or Asia aren't going to happen unless we are willing to fly. But a vacation starting and ending with the fear of flying symptoms listed above isn't going to be an enjoyable one. We want to arrive at our destination relaxed, refreshed, and ready to enjoy what we came to see and do. And dread of the flight back shouldn't be hanging over us the entire time we're trying to have fun.

You CAN learn to enjoy flying!

Yes, no matter if you have jitters or outright terror about flying, you can learn to eliminate the fears and enjoy flying using the techniques we've developed. We begin by examining the fears and concerns that you have about flying. This might turn up a bad experience with a previous flight, or a lack of understanding of the inherent safety of the airline industry. We'll discuss aircraft design for reliability and safety, training of pilots and maintenance personnel, and the FAA control system. Then, while you are relaxed in a comfortable chair in the office, you will be guided on an imaginary flight, addressing everything that normally occurs. We'll also touch on abnormal or unexpected events. Following this, you'll learn some relaxation techniques that you can use when you are actually on a plane.

At Pathway Hypnosis, our Enjoy Flying program usually consists of 2 sessions, although some people are able to feel confident after only 1 session. The first session includes discussion of the flying experience, a visualizion of a flight, and relaxation techniques. A second session is usually held the day before the actual flight, and is a more detailed repeat of the flight visualization with relaxation responses for each step of the way. The wonderful and versatile tool of self-hypnosis is taught during the session. Call or email now for an appointment and begin your enjoyment of flying!
