What do you do in a hypnosis session?

DESCRIBE A HYPNOSIS SESSION

Peaceful, Relaxing

A visit to our office is to find a peaceful, relaxing environment. We'll chat for a few minutes to get to know each other, and your hypnotherapist will ask you to describe the reasons you decided to make the changes in your life that will be facilitated during this visit. Then there is a disclosure form that the National Guild of Hypnotists has recommended we provide you to take home. After taking down your contact information, we'll get down to business.

Build a Plan of Action

You will learn about hypnosis, what it can do and how it works. You can check the links on the left of this page to see some of that information now, if you wish. Then, together, we will work out a plan of action for you to achieve your goal. For some issues we have handouts that we'll review and that you can take home with you.

Experience Hypnosis

Once the plan has been developed, we're ready to begin the actual hypnosis. Although many different techniques are available, the most common method is to begin with a relaxation. With quiet music playing, you are led into a deep relaxation. At this point you are already in a state of hypnosis. Guiding you deeper into this wonderful state of physical and mental relaxation, we communicate with your unconscious in ways that are suited just for you, since everybody is different. Everyone describes the whole experience as being very enjoyable and refreshing. It is our intent to have you leave the office in a much better mood than when you arrived. Most people report being inspired, invigorated, more confident, and energized by the time the session is over.

How Long?

Typical sessions may take an hour to an hour-and-a-half. The first session may take 2 hours, half of which is discussion and assessing needs and goals. If it turns out that we aren't on the same page, or if our 'energy' doesn't resonate with you, there is no charge for the first session. If we are, then your healing begins in that first session. Follow-up sessions are dependent on the outcome of the first one. "Emergency" phone calls that may be needed to hear a supportive voice when the temptations seem great are always available for free (so long as they aren't over-done).
