The way that we view the world affects the way the world reacts with us. If we feel that nothing in our life is positive, then it probably won't be. If we think of our job as extremely stressful and our boss a tyrant, then that will be our experience at work - negative, stressful, and something we don't look forward to. Not a great way to spend 8 hours a day, is it? If we are constantly expecting negativity from our partner, then we will probably experience negativity from him/her. But if we put happy thoughts in our life, if we strive for positivity, then things will actually seem better.
Of course not everything in life is positive, wonderful, and there to make us happy. The real world does have its ups and downs, and sometimes the downs seem pretty deep, indeed. But everything should be seen in perspective. Stress is a challenge and is stimulation. Life without stress would be pretty dull - boring. Often we don't see things in perspective, and view many normal events as negative stress. That's where our coaching comes in. We discuss the stresses you are experiencing and help you find the most effective way of coping (see our coping section) to deal effectively with those stresses.
When we discuss the things in your life that cause you stress (your stressors), we help you put them in order of importance, with the most stressful being first. Then we look at ways to deal with each of them. In some cases there would be avoidance by doing something different, in others it might be finding a better way of viewing or thinking of the stressors. This often is extremely effective. And sometimes the stressor isn't really what it seems, but a learned behavior stemming from something that happened earlier in our life. Together we create a plan for your stress reduction that will work for you. This plan might include money management techniques, an exercise routine, relationship factors, or diet management.
In nearly every situation, hypnosis really works in reducing the experienced stress. We use the plan we've developed together to help change the way your mind and body react to the stress. This is very effectively done under hypnosis (see What Is Hypnosis ). You will view the stressors in your life differently. You will understand that you can manage your stresses so they will not be so negative for you, or possibly even turn them into positive events. And all this is done while you are very relaxed, with no effort on your part! If exercise or diet are a part of your stress management plan, positive suggestions are given to your subconscious that will allow you to follow your plan without even having to think about it.
